The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is a government institution operating as an independent department, established to facilitate the recruitment of employees into the Public Service.
PSRS was established under the Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002, as amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, Section 29(1).
Call for Work (Placements) – UTUMISHI 2025
The primary responsibility of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat is to manage and coordinate recruitment processes within the Public Service.
In accordance with the Public Service Act, Cap. 298 of 2002, as amended by the Public Service Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007, Section 29(1), the functions of PSRS include the following:
Searching for professionals with specialized skills and maintaining a database to support efficient recruitment;
Registering graduates and professionals to simplify the process of filling vacant positions;
Advertising vacant posts available in the Public Service;
Engaging qualified experts to conduct interviews;
Advising employing authorities on recruitment-related matters; and
Performing any other duties as directed by the Minister responsible for Public Service.
